Pokémon just pulled the curtain back on an entire wave of 30th Celebration products, with release dates stretching from September into November. And over in Magic land, a Final Fantasy card is about to dethrone the reigning commander queen.
Pokémon
The 30th Celebration lineup is stacked, and most of it lands September 16 at the Pokémon Center and select stores. Leading the charge are the Sylveon ex Box and Greninja ex Box, plus a standard Elite Trainer Box and a Pokémon Center–exclusive ETB variant for collectors who want the fancier packaging.
The same September 16 date also brings a couple of lighter collectibles: a Tech Sticker Collection and a Poster Collection. If you like your anniversary merch with some display value, these are the ones to circle.
The rollout keeps going after that. A Binder Collection arrives October 2, then the Eeveelution fans get their moment October 30 with Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks. Umbreon demand is basically a law of physics at this point, so keep an eye on those.
Capping the wave are the Ultra-Premium Collections — Day & Night, landing November 6. UPCs tend to be the premium chase item of any anniversary set, so if that’s your lane, mark the calendar early.
Magic: The Gathering
There’s a new contender for the most-played commander in the game. Y’shtola, Night’s Blessed from the Final Fantasy set is sitting just about 3,000 decks away from claiming the top spot, and the climb has been fast. The full breakdown of why she’s so popular is worth a read if you want to understand what’s driving the deckbuilding trend — and maybe get ahead of the price movement on her staples.
Budget brewers, this one’s for you: a ranked look at the 56 best uncommon legendary creatures and commanders. There’s a real thrill in sitting down with a cheap uncommon legend and staring down a table of mythic-stuffed decks, and this list is a solid shopping guide for your next low-cost build.
Grab your favorite sleeves — this anniversary haul is going to keep the display shelf busy through the fall.
