Siderbox is a one-person TCG operation out of Westfield, Indiana — built from a personal collection that outgrew its shelf space and a conviction that online card buying shouldn't feel like a gamble.
How it started
Most small TCG sellers start the same way: a collection grows faster than the space available to hold it, duplicates pile up, and one day you list a few cards online just to see what happens. That's how Siderbox started in 2023 — less a business plan, more a shelf-space problem.
What kept it going was the buying experience on the other end. Getting a card described as Near Mint that arrives with a visible crease. Waiting three weeks for a common in a plain envelope with no tracking. Finding out "good communication" meant an auto-reply. That gap between what sellers promised and what buyers got felt like the real problem to solve.
Every Siderbox order goes out with proper packaging — penny sleeve, toploader, team bag, rigid mailer — regardless of card value. Grading is done under direct light, conservatively. If it's borderline LP it gets called LP, not NM. The feedback record reflects that approach: 100% positive across every platform, every transaction.
The catalog has expanded since those first MTG listings. Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, and Star Wars Unlimited are now stocked alongside Magic. Four very different communities, one consistent operation. Still shipping from Westfield, Indiana. Still a real person answering every message.

Three things we never compromise on.
Grade conservatively, always
When we say Near Mint, we mean it. We grade every card against strong light before it goes into a sleeve. If there's any doubt, it drops a grade. You shouldn't have to open a package with crossed fingers.
Pack every card like it's a $500 chase rare
Penny sleeve. Toploader or card saver. Team bag. Rigid mailer. Every order, every time — whether you're buying a bulk common or a Reserved List staple. The packaging is never the weak link.
Price fairly, compete honestly
We watch the market. We don't spike during hype cycles and we don't undercut to the point of cutting corners elsewhere. Fair market pricing means you keep coming back — and that's more valuable than a single inflated sale.

The first listing goes live
What started as moving duplicate cards from a personal collection turned into something with real legs. First sale shipped in a plain white envelope — we quickly realized that wasn't going to cut it.

Built out a proper packing station. Upgraded to rigid mailers, toploaders, and a label printer. Started tracking grading decisions in a spreadsheet so conditions stayed consistent.
